CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — The chambers of commerce and development authorities for both Berkeley and Jefferson counties collaboratively hosted the Eastern Panhandle Economic Outlook session at Hollywood Casino on Thursday.
Presenting at the meeting for the third year was John Deskins, director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at West Virginia University.
In looking at what Deskins termed “the big picture,” the nation, as a whole, is on track for what he called a “soft landing,” indicating that the country has gotten through the horrible bout of inflation without a new recession.
“That’s a good thing,” Deskins said, as he went on to add that overall, the Mountain State is on track overall to remain stable.
