Corky DeMarco dead at 68

Corky DeMarco was the longtime leader of the WVONGA.

A native of Charleston, DeMarco was the executive director of the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association and began working with the organization in 2003. The association today represents about 200 oil and gas related companies in West Virginia.

DeMarco was a Charleston native who attended Charleston Catholic High School and West Virginia State University.

He was a constant fixture at the State Capitol lobbying on behalf of the natural gas industry. He was also the originator of the “Inside Shale” series, a weekly radio show about the oil and natural gas industry which airs on several West Virginia Radio Corporation Stations.

DeMarco is survived by his wife, Catherine, three sons, two grandchildren, and a sister.

Plans for his funeral services are pending.
