CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Republican candidate for Governor Woody Thrasher:
“West Virginians deserve more than props. It took Jim Justice 45 minutes to mention the most urgent crisis crippling every corner of our state. He talked about the program he created in his name, which only grazes just one of so many aspects of our drug epidemic.
“School children in Monongalia County, one of our most populous counties, couldn’t ride their bus to or from school this week because of dangerous road conditions. Where is the long-term plan to actually sustain this year’s flash-in-the pan road work?
“While Jim Justice has been in office, another 37,000 people left our state. I could share more numbers and links, but it’s not necessary.
“The grandparents raising 72 percent of students in Logan County know we aren’t on a rocket ship ride. Countless parents burying their teenagers ravaged by addiction know we aren’t riding a lightning bolt.
“West Virginians know better, and we all deserve better.”
