CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Today, Kanawha County commissioner and gubernatorial candidate Ben Salango issued a statement on West Virginia’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW) program waitlist.
“There are currently over 1,000 West Virginians on the waitlist for the I/DD Waiver in our state. Every year under Jim Justice’s administration, there has been a Medicaid surplus and yet none of the surplus has been used to clear this waitlist. These are West Virginia families who desperately need the help, and the Justice administration has continued to do nothing except offer words and false promises. It’s long past time for studies; it’s time for action.”
