Charleston – A lucky West Virginia Lottery player turned a $1 million Powerball win into a $2 million prize after purchasing the Power Play option for Saturday night’s drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at Go-Mart #29, located at 604 S. Pike Street in Shinnston, Harrison County.
The ticket matched all five white ball numbers but not the Powerball. Because the player purchased the Power Play option, the original $1 million prize was doubled to $2 million.
“This is an incredible win for one of our players and another exciting moment for West Virginia Lottery draw games,” Deputy Director of Marketing Danielle Snidow said. “Adding the Power Play option made a life-changing difference for this winner, and we encourage all players to check their tickets carefully. As always, we remind everyone to play responsibly.”
Saturday’s winning Powerball numbers were 4, 16, 41, 48, 66, and the Powerball was 26.
The holder of this ticket is encouraged to sign the back and contact the West Virginia Lottery at 304-558-0500 for instructions on how to claim.
Also, during Saturday’s drawings, a Lotto America ticket worth $20,000 was sold at Smoker Friendly #31, located at 1620 Earl L. Core Road in Morgantown. The winning Lotto America numbers were 5, 16, 24, 32, 41, and the Star Ball was 4.
Players are reminded that Powerball tickets can be purchased for $2 per play, or $3 with the Power Play option, which increases non-jackpot prizes. Tickets for the next drawing must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. on draw nights.
