Charleston — The CAMC Foundation is excited to announce the 2026 CAMC Foundation Run For Your Life 5-Mile Run/ 2.5-Mile Walk, taking place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Haddad Riverfront Park in downtown Charleston. This year’s event holds special significance as it is part of the CAMC Foundation’s 50th Anniversary celebration, highlighting five decades of commitment to improving health and supporting patients across the region.
The event brings together runners, walkers, families, and community partners to support colorectal cancer awareness and early screening efforts in West Virginia. Funds raised through the event help expand education, outreach, and access to screening resources regardless of financial barriers.
Colorectal cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States, and West Virginia continues to experience higher-than-average incidence rates. Events like the CAMC Foundation Run For Your Life play an important role in encouraging preventive care, promoting early detection, and engaging the community in meaningful ways that support better health outcomes.
Participants will enjoy a scenic and challenging course through downtown Charleston and Spring Hill Cemetery, with race-day festivities including chair massages, refreshments, local vendors, hydrotherapy, and the well-known GIANT inflatable colon. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m. Entry is $25 through June 2nd and $30 after.
“This year’s Run For Your Life event is especially meaningful as we celebrate 50 years of the CAMC Foundation’s work in our community,” said Kristen Kelley, Development Officer and Race Director for the CAMC Foundation. “We invite individuals, families, businesses, and the community at large to come together, participate, and help us continue raising awareness and encouraging early screening across West Virginia.”
