HURRICANE, W.Va. — University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and GoHealth Urgent Care, which formed a joint venture to acquire and rebrand all MedExpress locations in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, came together Thursday morning to celebrate a newly rebranded location in Putnam County.

The process to acquire MedExpress, which was founded in Morgantown in 2001, began in October. The centers’ electronic medical records systems and other technology services are being updated across locations, which include two in Huntington and 23 total in West Virginia.

The UPMC and GoHealth Urgent Care locations can act as a personal care provider or regular family medicine doctor for a patient, but they can also help patients find a regular doctor outside of urgent care.
