An Amber Alert has been issued for a 16-year-old girl believed abducted from the Beckley Walgreens Wednesday evening about 6 p.m. The alert says police believe she could be in extreme danger.

Beckley Police Sgt. Seneca Webb identified the girl as Jaddah Lashay Rodgers, an African American who is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds with braided black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.

Police believe that she was taken by Lawrence E. Asbury, described only as a 20-year-old white male, according to the alert. They may be traveling in a 1995, two-door red Chevy Blazer, West Virginia license 5ZZ 359. The vehicle was last seen traveling on Neville Street, heading westbound toward Virginia Street.

Photos of neither the suspect nor the victim were immediately available.

Further information was unavailable late Wednesday.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rodgers is asked to contact Sgt. Webb at the Beckley Police Department, 304+256-1720, the West Virginia State Police or your local 911.
