WVPA seeking judges for N.C Press Association Contest

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Press Association is asking editors, ad directors and staffers at its member newspapers to help the North Carolina Press Association in judging its editorial and newspaper contest.

“This isn’t our next exchange state but several associations are hoping to work together to help judge press association contests when the number of entries gets too large, such as is starting to happen with our contests. This type of exchange would ensure more judges and, hopefully, better judging,” said Don Smith, executive director of the WVPA, “I’m hoping to get 10 editorial judges and 10 advertising judges from our association to help. North Carolina does good work so the experience should be enjoyable and educational.”

The entries would be available within the next week to 10 days. There would be a two-week window on judging.
