W.Va.’s Marion Co. Humane Society back in business

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The Marion County Humane Society is back open after a recent water line break turned things upside down at the shelter.

Kennel technician Alexis Potesta said the humane society was able to open back up Monday.

“It was nice being able to reopen again and not having to keep telling people, ‘no, you can’t come see the dogs because the area is currently unsafe,’” she said.

Last week, a water line in the attic in the kennel area ruptured.

“The pipe that burst has been fixed since then, and we have water back to all areas now,” Potesta said. …
