CHARLESTON, W.Va.  — The West Virginia Library Commission is joining with libraries across the state, as well as the American Library Association, during September for Library Card Sign-up Month. It’s an initiative to make sure that every student has a free library card.

This year’s theme centers on the “Power of a Library Card,” and the 2017 honorary chairs are the DC Super Hero team, Teen Titans.
Students can turn to libraries for materials, programs and knowledgeable library staff that support academic achievement, as well as access to high-speed internet and digital tools, according to the West Virginia Library Commission.

For more information about how to sign up for a library card, West Virginia residents can drop by their local library or visit the West Virginia Library Commission online at www.librarycommission.wv.gov.
