Voters in Berkeley County, W.Va., renew school level

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Voters in Berkeley County decided to renew the school levy during a special election on Saturday, according to the unofficial results.

The number of voters in favor of the school levy was 3,125, with 1,656 voting against. The votes will be made official during next week’s canvass.

The levy will include a five-year plan, with $158 million — $31.6 million annually — going toward salary supplements and benefits for all school employees, instructional materials, technology, textbooks, support for extracurricular activities, academics, the arts and athletics. …
