Times West Virginian hiring director of Audience Development

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The Times West Virginian is hiring a director of Audience Development.

The Times West Virginian is a seven-day newspaper with a circulation of 9,000 and a website that produces 1.5 million page views from 100,000 unique monthly visitors. In addition, we publish the weekly Marion Times and the award-winning Corridor magazine.

Our director will oversee all aspects of marketing and distribution, including home delivery, single copy, digital subscriptions, niche products, and sales and retention for the daily newspaper. This individual must lead by example, set benchmarks and build our coverage.

The director is an integral member of the Time’s senior leadership team, with a voice in strategic initiatives. Exemplary leadership, organizational and communication skills are vital for this role. Above all, our director must possess a creative approach to audience development and an unwavering commitment to customer service.

Candidates should have strong leadership skills and computer knowledge. Sales and/or business background is a plus.

This position requires use of a personal vehicle, so an acceptable driving record and current driver’s license are required. Pre-employment criminal background and credit checks are also required.
