Salem University introduces new graduate education program paths

Salem, W.Va. – The Salem School of Education now offers a 30-credit hour Master of Education in Educational Leadership and an 18-credit hour Certificate in Educational Leadership. Both programs lead to the West Virginia Professional Administrative Certificate with specialization as PreK – Adult Principal.

Salem programs utilize an accelerated instructional delivery structure allowing students to complete most courses in 1 month. Salem educator preparation programs are nationally recognized and lead to West Virginia professional licenses as teachers, school principals, district supervisors, and superintendents. The Salem School of Education is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Dr. Craig McClellan, Dean of the School of Education and Associate Provost states, “We are pleased to offer these new preparation paths leading to licensure for our professional educators in West Virginia. Combined with our recent significantly reduced tuition rates, we believe these programs will be of great service to our hard working teachers striving to move into school administration.”
