FAIRMONT, W.Va.  – With the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for U.S. Supreme Court, competing outcries of support and disapproval have been heard throughout the country.

A group in support of this choice is the West Virginia Republican National Committee, which organized a rally to demonstrate this approval Tuesday, urging U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin to show his support as well.

“The protest today is to encourage Joe Manchin to support judge Brett Kavanaugh,” Brett Tubbs, West Virginia communications director for the RNC, said. “The people of West Virginia have spoken for the most part; they elected Donald Trump by 42 points, while Joe supported Hillary Clinton. The people of West Virginia support their president and they are pushing for another Supreme Court nominee and he should just go ahead and support this choice.”
