CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Registration is now open for the 2024-2025 MATHCOUNTS Competition Series. The MATHCOUNTS Competition focuses on building problem-solving skills and student confidence in mathematics. Middle School students compete individually and as members of a team on both written and oral math contests. More than 100,000 students from more than 5,200 schools will compete across the country this year.

The Charleston Chapter Competition is the first competition in the series for middle school students in Kanawha, Putnam, Lincoln, Clay, Mason, and Roane Counties.  The competition will be held on February 8, 2025.  The University of Charleston has generously donated space for this year’s Charleston Chapter Competition.

Top competitors from the Chapter Competition will go on to compete in the State Competition to be held in March 2025.  Students who finish in the top four places in the State Competition get the opportunity to compete at the 2025 RTX MATHCOUNTS National Competition, May 10-13 in Washington, DC.

Additional information, coaching resources, and registration can be obtained by visiting www.mathcounts.org.  Early Bird Registration is open now through November 1, 2024.  The registration deadline for the Charleston Chapter Competition is December 16, 2024.
