The Princeton Times hiring full-time reporter

PRINCETON, W.Va. — The Princeton Times is currently seeking applicants for a full-time reporting position in the Princeton, W.Va., and greater Mercer County area.
Qualified applicants must be comfortable interviewing people in a wide range of different circumstances; be able to meet regular deadlines; assist in proofreading copy from a variety of sources; seek out and investigate stories via contacts, press releases and other media; attend media conferences and ask broad-ranging questions; attend a wide range of events and collect essential information for resulting stories; react to breaking news efficiently; creatively find ways to produce advance stories to promote local events; and photograph events while covering the news angle of a story.
Job requirements include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field and dependable transportation. A technical background in Quark, Photoshop and/or NewsEdit Pro, along with up to five years of experience in writing or editorial experience are preferred.
