BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon will offer a free training for nonprofit organizations titled “Nonprofit Governance: Developing and Sustaining an Effective Board” on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Greek Alumni Room, located at 59 College Ave. in Buckhannon.
Speaker Jenna Misiti, Esq., of Appalachian Healthcare Legal Consulting will discuss strategies for board member recruitment and development, roles and responsibilities, best practices for managing risk and potential conflicts, and tips for increasing board engagement. The training is tailored to executive leadership and board members of nonprofit organizations.
Jenna Misiti, Esq., is an attorney and compliance professional with over 12 years’ experience working with West Virginia nonprofits. She is a graduate of Marshall University and Washington and Lee School of Law. In addition to managing her law practice, Misiti is an adjunct professor with Marshall University and serves as a Director on the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy.

The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon was established with proceeds from the sale of St. Joseph’s Hospital, and continues the legacy established by the Pallottine Missionary Sisters of caring for the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of those in the region.
