BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – New River Community and Technical College has announced the offering of a six-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class at their Bluefield location. This class is designed to prepare students to take their certification exam, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the nursing field.
The class will start on August 28 and will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at New River CTC’s Bluefield location located at 534 Raleigh Street, Bluefield, WV 24701. An orientation session is scheduled for August 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The CNA class will feature in-person lectures, a lab, and a clinical component, providing comprehensive training for aspiring nursing assistants. This class is open to everyone, including students, employees, and members of the community who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing. There is no cost for the class, only minimal costs for background testing.
Preregistration is required by August 16. To register, fill out the New River CTC Workforce Education Form.
