CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women (WVFDW) has announced that Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb will be the keynote speaker at their 60th annual meeting, September 20-22, 2024, at Four Points by Sheraton in Charleston, WV. The theme of the meeting is: Rights are a Girl’s Best Friend.
Chair Kleeb will present remarks at the Diamond Jubilee Banquet to be held at 6 PM on Saturday, September 21. Tickets are available at https://donorbox.org/events/664451.
“In the 60 years of our Federation, we have had the great fortune of huge majorities in elected offices, and now we are in a time of rebuilding”, said Pamela Van Horn, President of the WVFDW. “We are excited that Chair Kleeb is joining us to share her hard-won experience with expanding the number of elected Democrats in Nebraska.”
Chair Kleeb is the author of Harvest the Vote: How Democrats Can Win Again in Rural America, published in 2020. Under her leadership, Democrats elected in Nebraska have grown from 500 in 2016 to more than 900 today. In addition, Chair Kleeb serves on the Executive Committees of the Democratic National Committee and the Association of State Democratic Committees.
A full weekend of activities and workshops is planned to celebrate the WVFDW 60th Anniversary and gear up for the general election in November. Chair Kleeb will help lead a workshop on Saturday focused on get out the vote efforts. The WVFDW, Inc. was chartered with the West Virginia Secretary of State on April 10, 1964, as a state political organization. The all-volunteer organization unites county Democratic Women’s clubs together for the success of the Democratic Party.
