Mon Power employees step up to fight food insecurity in W.Va.

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Colleen Morris sees hundreds of people come through her doors every month.

Not the doors of her home, but the doors of the Mannington Food Pantry, for which she serves as director. Everyone who comes through the doors on a weekly basis is in need of food for themselves and/or their families, and the need to keep the shelves stocked with food and supplies is ongoing.

“We feed around 300 families a month,” Morris said. “Even though it looks like our numbers are going down, actually our family size is going up in the people we serve.” …
