MEDIA ADVISORY: WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals to Cut Ribbon on West Virginia’s First Orthopedic Hospital

What: WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals and local officials will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly renovated orthopedic hospital at its Saint Francis campus in downtown Charleston. The Thomas Orthopedic Hospital is the first of its kind in West Virginia offering expanded inpatient, outpatient, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and skilled nursing all under one roof.

 After joining WVU Medicine, Thomas Hospitals solidified plans to repurpose Saint Francis Hospital to become West Virginia’s first full-service and comprehensive orthopedic hospital. The vision for the hospital began with addressing the increased need for specialty orthopedic procedures for patients. This best-in-class, full-service orthopedic hospital will complement the outstanding orthopedic teams that serve WVU Medicine’s main campus in Morgantown.
