Event set for Nov. 15-16 at Stonewall Resort
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University Extension Service has issued the following media alert:
WHO:
— 150+ female farmers and agribusiness owners from around the state
— West Virginia UniversityExtension Service faculty and staff;
— Mary Elizabeth “M.E.” Yancosek Gamble, chair of the communications and media arts department at Bethany College, keynote speaker
— Various exhibitors
WHAT: Women in Ag, a two-day conference offering an affordable opportunity for women who own or run their own agricultural operations to learn from peers and other female mentors in a supportive, inclusive environment.
WHEN: Noon, Friday, Nov. 15 to roughly 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16,
WHERE: Stonewall Resort, 149 State Park Trail, Roanoke
NOTES: In West Virginia, more than 13,000 women are diligently working to develop and maintain their own farms and agribusinesses – which contributed more than $200 million to the state’s economy in 2017.
Women’s involvement in West Virginia’s agriculture industry continues to grow and WVU Extension Service’s Women in Agriculture team hosts the annual conference to help fulfill the needs of these farmers, innovators and entrepreneurs.
