LEWISBURG, W.Va. — The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) has issued the following media advisory:
At 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, on the WVSOM campus in Lewisburg, WVSOM leadership and representatives of the Greenbrier Military School Alumni Association will sign an agreement ensuring the continued curation of the Greenbrier Military School Museum.
The WVSOM campus was formerly the location of the historic Greenbrier Military School (GMS) and the medical school’s main building served as the primary structure for GMS. The museum is in the north wing of the WVSOM Roland P. Sharp Alumni Center Conference Center.
WVSOM President James W. Nemitz, Ph.D., members of the GMS Alumni Association Board of Directors and guests will attend the signing of the agreement.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The GMS agreement signing will follow a bill signing ceremony at 12:45 p.m. with Gov. Jim Justice for Senate Bill 2020, which provides WVSOM with $13.6 million for deferred maintenance. Both events will be held in the Roland P. Sharp Alumni Center Conference Center, giving reporters two separate events at one location.
On a related note, Governor Jim Justice is an alumnus of GMS.
