MEDIA ADVISORY: Gov. Jim Justice to sign SB-2020 at WVSOM on Oct. 18

LEWISBURG, W.Va. — The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) has issued the following media advisory:

At 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, in Lewisburg, West Virginia, Gov. Jim Justice will visit the WVSOM campus to sign Senate Bill 2020 – WVSOM’s $13.6 million appropriation for deferred maintenance.

Gov. Justice will join with WVSOM President James W. Nemitz, invited guests, and WVSOM leadership, faculty, and students to sign the legislation, which will assist the medical school in maintaining its campus facilities, operating in a responsible fiscal manner, and controlling its tuition rate.

Included in the deferred maintenance appropriation is work on WVSOM’s main building, which is 100 years old and was originally the Greenbrier Military School (GMS). Gov. Justice is a GMS alumnus. Following the Governor’s signing of SB-2020, were there be a GMS program.
