Why:
The annual Dash for Diabetes raises awareness for diabetes and its impact, promoting routine exercise and healthy eating. This event highlights the importance of diabetes prevention and management, aligning with Coplin Health Systems’ mission to enhance community health and wellness through comprehensive diabetes education services. All proceeds will go to Coplin Health Systems’ Diabetes Education Program and the Ravenswood Recreation Youth Program.
Event Schedule:
● 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Same-day registration
● 8:30 AM: 5k Walk/Run begins
Visual and Interview Opportunities:
● Participants of all ages walking/running by the riverfront
● Interviews with Coplin Health Systems’ diabetes educators and healthcare professionals
● Testimonies from individuals benefiting from diabetes education services
Background:
This year’s event marks the 10th anniversary of the Dash for Diabetes, celebrating a decade of raising awareness, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting diabetes education in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Coplin Health Systems offers comprehensive diabetes education services, providing individuals with the tools and knowledge needed for effective self-care and management. By fostering proactive diabetes management, Coplin aims to enhance quality of life and reduce the risk of diabetes-related
complications.
