PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Grant County Bank is proud to announce the recipient of the Moomau Scholarship, established in honor of the late George B. Moomau, long-time Bank President, and his wife, Lura “Becky” Moomau—a cherished educator within Grant County Schools.

The Moomau Scholarship awards $1,000 to a graduating senior of Petersburg High School who has chosen to pursue further education in college or technical school. This year, the scholarship has been awarded to Mr. Cameron Labossiere, a 2024 Petersburg High School graduate.

George Ford, President & CEO of Grant County Bank, presented Cameron with his award on January 17, 2025.

In addition to receiving the Moomau Scholarship, Cameron was honored with the 2024 Student of the Year Award and earned his diploma in welding technology from South Branch Career & Technical Center. He will soon embark on a new chapter at Eastern Community & Technical College, where he will obtain his CDL license. Following this, he plans to further his education at Albat (American Line Builders Joint Apprenticeship and Training) in Medway, Ohio, as he pursues a career as a lineman.

“We are honored to support such a promising young talent,” said George Ford. “We wish Cameron the very best as he embarks on his journey, and we look forward to seeing his continued success.”
