Families of natural gas pipeliners donate supplies to Marion County, W.Va., schools

IDAMAY, W.Va. — In an effort to give back to the local community, the families of pipeliners with Michels Corp. have donated a variety of supplies to local schools in Marion County.

The supply drive, led by the “pipeliners’ wives,” was organized earlier this summer, with donations being made to Monongah, Blackshere and Jayenne elementary schools and North Marion High School. Patty Minium, one of the women spearheading the drive, said that it’s their way of giving back to the community.

“This is just something that we do when we go into a community,” Minium said. “No matter where we’re at, we reach out into the community to see if they need help with anything. If they need school supplies or food supplies or just work done in the community that they need help with, we want to reach out and help.” …
