Fairmont hip-hop artist seeks to establish community garden

TK Blockstar kneels on the site of a future community garden she will help make a reality at the former community center at 612 Madison Ave. in Fairmont, also called “612 Mac.” She will be working this year with Regina Bruce of the Fairmont Community Youth Development Center on the project.

FAIRMONT, W.Va.  — TK Blockstar looks out across a frozen yard covered in a dusting of snow.

But she sees something else.

In her mind, she can picture a robust garden of vegetables with children working the soil while gardeners offer them seasoned advice.
