Parkersburg Coplin Health Systems has been awarded $1.5 million in Senate appropriations funding to support the construction of a new service center on Camden Avenue in Parkersburg. This funding allows Coplin to move forward with a project designed specifically to meet the growing needs of the community, address several barriers to care, including provider shortages and limited access to timely services, and strengthen healthcare access across the region.

The new project will replace an existing site that Coplin has outgrown due to increased patient demand and limited space for services. The new Camden Avenue project is intentionally designed to expand upon the existing care of the community and to support Coplin’s integrated care model. It will include a layout that promotes collaboration across departments to create a seamless, coordinated experience for every patient. In addition to the main clinic, a second building will be dedicated to community engagement and wellness by hosting support groups, health education programs, wellness activities, and hands-on learning opportunities.

“This project was designed around what the Parkersburg community deserves, so great care was taken to ensure the layout allowed for a patient-first experience while also expanding the services available in this area,” explained Ashley Blanc, Senior Projects Manager. “Together, the two buildings will create a space to support long-term wellness, preventive care, and meaningful community connections. And importantly, the expanded footprint will help reduce wait times so patients can receive care when they need it.”

The Camden Avenue location will offer a wide range of comprehensive services, including:

  • Primary care
  • Same day care options
  • Pharmacy services
  • Behavioral health care
  • Diabetes education and management programs
  • Integrated substance abuse care
  • Occupational health and Department of Transportation physicals
  • On-site lab services
  • Pediatric care
  • Pharmacy delivery services
  • Preventative services
  • Women’s health services
  • Youth immunizations and physicals

“We want to thank Senator Shelley Moore Capito and Senator Jim Justice for their continued dedication to improving healthcare access for the people we serve,” stated Rob Dudley, President & CEO. “Their support helps bring this vision to life, and we look forward to opening a facility that truly reflects the future of care and the future at Coplin Health Systems.”

Coplin aims to break ground on the project by early 2027 and open the new facility in 2028, aligning with the organization’s 50th anniversary. While additional milestones are still being finalized, the Camden Avenue project marks a significant step forward in expanding access to integrated care and strengthening the long-term health of the Parkersburg community.
