WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) has announced that Congressman Riley M. Moore (R-WV) will serve on the House Appropriations Committee’s subcommittees on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education; Commerce, Justice, and Science; and as the Vice Chair of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee.
These subcommittees oversee a large swath of federal agencies and the missions they support, including healthcare, labor issues, and the Department of Justice. In December, Congressman Moore was the lone freshman lawmaker to earn a seat on the full committee.
Congressman Moore released the following statement:
“I’m thrilled to be serving with Chairman Cole on the Appropriations Committee, and am equally excited to work closely with my colleagues to enact President Trump’s agenda that prioritizes the American worker, promotes an American cultural rebirth, and defends life.
“I thank Chairman Cole for his support and am eager to get to work as we cut costs and responsibly spend precious taxpayer dollars.”
Chairman Tom Cole added:
“Just as the hills of West Virginia ascend in strength, so does Congressman Moore as he joins the consequential House Appropriations Committee. Riley’s dedication to conservative principles and experience as a state treasurer will be an asset in upholding fiscal responsibility and effective governance. I know his strong commitment to his constituents and duty to this new role will drive meaningful progress. Together, I’m confident we’ll work to execute the agenda of the American people while remaining good stewards of their precious tax dollars.”
