CHARLESTON, W.Va. The Bricklayers District Council of West Virginia announced today that it is endorsing Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Jeff Kessler for Governor.
Director Leroy Hunter says Kessler is the only choice.
“You will not find a stronger, better candidate for Labor than Jeff Kessler,” said Hunter. “Jeff Kessler has always stood alongside the hardworking men and women of West Virginia. When the immediate attacks on working families began earlier this year, it was Jeff Kessler who stood in the trenches and fought for us. Jeff Kessler is the real Democrat in the Democratic Primary and we are proud to not only endorse, but also support him.”
Kessler says he’s honored to have the support of the working men and women of organized labor.
“I’ve spent my career standing with West Virginia’s working families and fighting to protect their rights against corporations, insurance companies and Wall Street,” said Kessler. “ “I’ve successfully fought to maintain our prevailing wage, to increase our minimum wage to provide pay raises for our teachers, service personnel, state employees and county officials. I’ve championed coal mine and workplace safety, paid sick leave for our workforce and the West Virginia Jobs Act that ensures that our workers are hired on West Virginia taxpayer funded projects. As your Governor, I will continue to work for the people of West Virginia and invest in them and our future.”
The Bricklayers District Council of West Virginia currently operates with the largest pool of available bricklayers, stonemasons, marble masons, cement masons, tile setters, tile helpers, terrazzo and mosaic workers, plasterers and pointers/cleaners/caulkers.
