Bluestone calling back 200 union miners at idled mines

LEWISBURG, W.Va — Bluestone Resources Inc. will be calling back to work 200 UMWA workers at the Coal Mountain complex in Wyoming County and Red Fox complex in McDowell County.
The announcement came today from Jim Justice, who recently purchased the mining sites back from the Russian company, Mechel OAO, and pledged to reopen them as soon as possible. The two mining complexes have been idled for more than a year.
“This is a great day for these families in the wake of all the devastation that has happened to the coal industry. I appreciate my relationship with all the hardworking people and officials of the UMWA,” Justice said. “With all of the mine shutdowns and the terribly sad news, it’s about time that we finally have some good news to report for our miners and their families.”
Justice announced recently that he will seek the Democratic nomination for West Virginia governor in 2016.
