WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — In a break from some of his more boisterous and freewheeling visits to West Virginia, President Donald Trump kept his speech at The Greenbrier resort Tuesday to praise of veterans and kind words to the state’s elected Republicans.
About a year ago, Trump’s keynote address at a Boy Scout event tumbled from anecdotes about his friends with lavish yachts to potshots at the media. Just over a month later, in August 2017, he came back to blast Democrats for perpetuating “the Russian story.”
On Tuesday however, Trump took a more disciplined approach. He offered kind words to state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and House Delegate Carol Miller, R-Cabell — two Republicans running for higher offices in competitive races.
