CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The latest “American Idol” is nearly though its first leg and those important, preliminary auditions around the country are coming to an end.
Saturday, five producers of the television talent competition will be at Haddad Riverfront Park (weather permitting) to see and listen to local singers, one of whom could become the next Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson or Chris Daughtry.
It’s the first time the auditions have included West Virginia, but Senior Supervising Producer Patrick Lynn said “American Idol” is visiting a lot of new places this year, checking out new cities and looking for young, new talent.
