The fair was open from Aug. 10-19, and auctions were held five times throughout those dates, according to Perdue’s office.

Over the five days of auctions, the top draw was a gold coin, which brought in $495, according to Perdue’s office.

Sales figures exceeded expectations by nearly 30 percent when compared to in-house price estimates, the state agency reported.

Auction items typically come from bank safe deposit boxes, and proceeds from auctions remain in the rightful owner’s account, according to Perdue’s office.
