Media Alert: WVSOS Online election night reporting system ready for General Election

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Secretary of State Election Night Reporting (ENR) system is ready to deploy for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Secretary of State Mac Warner said the ENR system provides the media and general public with real-time results as soon as they are reported by each individual county clerk. County clerks throughout the state each have county-specific ENR pages, and many will upload results throughout the night after polls close. Once uploaded by the clerks or their staff, the results are published, giving a snapshot of current unofficial results around the state.

At the end of the night, all counties will upload their final unofficial results into the system. The results will remain unofficial until after canvass and the lapse of the recount period in each county. Canvass is scheduled to begin on November 13, and the recount period lasts for 48 hours after the close of canvass. Unless there is a recount, the results announced after canvass will become certified after the recount period closes.

The ENR system was first used last May in the Primary Election.
