Evan H. Jenkins takes the oath of office, Monday, for the West Virginia Supreme Court. He’s sworn in by Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia the Honorable Thomas E. Johnston with Jenkins’ wife, Olivia, holding the Bible. Jenkins left his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives to become a state Supreme Court justice after he was appointed by Gov. Jim Justice. Jenkins would have been out of office by January, after failing to gain the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in the May primary. He fills the spot left by Justice Robin Davis, who resigned after being impeached along with the remaining justices on the state court.
