Church and state in W.Va.’s capital

This photo by the Charleston Daily Mail’s Tom Hindman captures one of the most commonly photographed views in the capital city. It is known colloquially as “Church and State.” The buildings pictured are, from left, Charleston Baptist Temple, the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, the West Virginia Capitol, Kanawha United Presbyterian Church and Christ Church United Methodist.
