MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Olivia DeWeese stepped into the Football 101 program Sunday, Aug. 17, with a perspective different than most of the other women attending — she’s only 10.
She plays quarterback and defensive back in the St. Marys Blue Devils youth system.
Participants in the educational program had the opportunity to talk football with the WVU coaching staff, take pictures with their favorite Mountaineers, and even run through a variety of drills coached by the players.
For DeWeese, this meant she could meet her favorite player at her own position, Clint Trickett, and catch a pass from him.
On the other side of the spectrum was 77-year-old Kay Kinder, who stole the hearts and smiles of the WVU players as she completed each drill…
