WVU makes student orientation an adventure

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — For the first time, incoming WVU students can experience the wild, cicada-filled outdoors of West Virginia during their orientation visit. New Student Orientation (NSO) and Adventure WV partnered to form NSO Adventure Basecamp, a two-day excursion at the Outdoor Education Center in the University Research Forest.

During the trip, students participate in team-building activities on the high ropes and low ropes courses and then spend the night in yurts before participating in a traditional New Student Orientation session the second day.

The all-inclusive trip is $35 and has a component in which parents are also able to participate on the Canopy Tour, a zip line course…
