MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Having a groomed beard that looks presentable is important to the 2016 Beard Growing Champion, Matt Tenaglio.
Tenaglio was just one of 12 contestants during Wednesday’s Beard Growing Contest Finals in the Mountainlair.
The contestants met four weeks ago to shave their faces to start the competition and after that they could do whatever remedies they wanted to grow the best beard.
“There were some awesome beards here. It was a great competition,” Tenaglio said.
Last year he made it in the Top 5, but didn’t make it to the winner’s podium.
“This year I sat around and really focused on it and put all my energy into growing my beard,” Tenaglio joked.
