NEW YORK — The West Virginia University Mountaineer Marching Band, the Pride of West Virginia, participated in the 90th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday in New York City. This was the first year that WVU’s band was invited to march in the annual parade, and it was the only collegiate band to perform. When the band reached the televised area of the parade, it played “Strike up the Band.” The band then continued down 34th Street playing a rendition of “Country Roads.”
