Tall visitor scores smiles in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Harlem Globetrotter Shane “Scooter” Christensen towered over the children at WVU Children’s Hospital as he twirled a basketball on one finger, then handed it over to a patient to do the same.

The look of joy on the child’s face was immediate.

“Coming out here and putting a couple smiles on kids’ faces, it was fun,” Christensen said.

He visited the hospital Tuesday, April 7, as part of the team’s Smile Patrol Program. It was a preview to the Globetrotters’ April 16 visit to the WVU Coliseum…
