Perfect weather makes for perfect Father’s Day

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Many local dads spent their Father’s Day outside with their children enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather.

Ernie Woofter of Buffalo Lake was grilling out at  Clarksburg City Park with friends and extended family.

“I call days like this just a ho hum day in paradise,” he said. “Good weather, good friends and family — how could it be any better?”

His friend Walter Tate of Meadowbrook was also there with family.

“This world is so fast-paced anymore,” he said. “We don’t have time to really talk and smell the roses. Today we set aside just to celebrate Father’s Day.”

Simple gestures made many fathers feel appreciated.

Jason Matheny of Bridgeport spent the afternoon at the Bridgeport City Pool with wife, Anna, and kids 7-year-old Jaxson, 4-year-old Lily and 10-month-old Tori.

His kids gave him arts and crafts projects, while his wife also gave him Tori’s framed handprint.

“That way we can look back years from now, and remember the way things were,” he said…
