LOGAN, W.Va. — Logan’s beloved romantic musical will make its way back to the stage next week as this year’s performances of The Aracoma Story will begin Tues., July 15, at 8:30 p.m.

Legend has it that Logan County lays claim to what has been described as one of America’s most romantic legends, the story of Princess Aracoma and British soldier Boling Baker, who was captured by Aracoma’s father Shawnee Chief Cornstalk. The story asserts that Princess Aracoma and Baker moved into the valley sometime close to the year 1760 and lived in peace on the island (today’s City of Logan) until 1780.

Based on historical facts and local legend, the drama unfolds as a wise old mountain man weaves the tragic tale of Aracoma.

This year’s performance will be directed by Stephanie Richards…
