Leaking water fountain floods Fayette school

BECKLEY, W.Va. — School maintenance crews are working around the clock to clean up after a water supply line failed and flooded Fayetteville Elementary Saturday night, confirmed Superintendent Terry George.

School has been canceled Tuesday while the clean-up continues.

George said the failed line ran to a third floor water fountain and was discovered early Sunday morning. Carpet in hallways and some classrooms was soaked, and water seeped into floor and around light fixtures in ceilings below.
