HUNTINGTON — “There’s so much to celebrate about Israel,” Rabbi Jean Eglinton said as she sat in the shade at Pullman Square during the fourth annual statewide West Virginia Israel Independence Day Celebration.
The event commemorates the rebirth of ancient Israel as a modern independent nation in 1948, but even beyond the country’s 66th year of independence, there’s really much more to celebrate about Israel, she said. It has 30,000 years of remarkable history to explore, and astonishing advancements in technology are developed there as well, she said.
