Some hit the water as WV endures heat wave

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Tri-State residents aren’t alone on their ride along a heat wave that has washed over the country, causing wildfires and drought from coast to coast of the United States.

The wave isn’t expected to subside anytime soon, with high temperatures in Huntington forecasted to be planted firmly in the mid to high 80s for the next seven days, according to the National Weather Service station in Charleston.

On top of the already hot temperatures, widespread humidity bumped up much of the area’s heat index to 101 degrees Monday…
