CHARLESTON, W.Va. — “Magic light” is what Daily Mail photographer Tom Hindman calls the golden hue provided by a setting sun. At the end of a bright, clear Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Hindman was shooting on Capitol Street and noted how the light was hitting the buildings.
“I knew it was going to be a magic evening,” he said.
He followed the sun westward to South Charleston to take advantage of his brief window of opportunity. He positioned himself on an overpass above the CSX train yard to catch the dying rays reflecting off tanker cars and the rail lines as they converged on the horizon.
